Product Description
Alpha Reverse Transcriptase (RT) is an engineered version of M-MuLV Reverse Transcriptase with reduced RNase H activity. It boasts high sensitivity, excellent processivity, and a pronounced affinity for RNA templates. Notably, it can stably generate cDNA as long as 9 kb.

Application Cases
1. RT-qPCR

1) Using the two-step RT-qPCR method, the 1.6 kb housekeeping gene B2M was amplified. The starting template was five 10-fold serial dilutions of HeLa cell total RNA (from 1 pg to 10 ng), two replicates each. Alpha RT stably detects starting templates as low as 10 pg.
2. Standard Bulk RNA-Seq

2) RNA-seq libraries were prepared from Universal Human Reference RNA (UHRR, Invitrogen™) and sequenced on BGISEQ-500 (PE100). Alpha RT showed good performance comparable to competitor T, with relatively consistent Bulk RNA-Seq data.
